Oh, People...

What is wrong with people?

Can somebody please explain to me how a living, breathing, fellow human being, can take another human's soul into their hands, and manipulate them to the point of total and utter misery, without even a shred of remorse?

Can somebody please explain to me how somebody could look another somebody in the face, and tell them that they are worthless, that they are spineless, that they don't deserve to be loved or cared for or treated like the person that they are?

Can somebody please explain to me how an individual can blow through a family like a hate-filled summer windstorm, destroying each and every single life involved, and just get away with it?

Can somebody please explain to me how two people who love each other and are so inarguably meant to be together don't ever get that chance because someone else's jealousy and spite get in the way?

Can somebody please explain to me how it gets this bad?

Can somebody please explain to me how these awful people win?

Can somebody please explain to me how it is we're supposed to go on from here...I'm open to suggestions.
